English and History Teachers (Part-time)

The client is an international Christian school in Beijing, China.  They cooperate with a school in the US, and part of their curriculum follows the American high school system (AP and SAT2) for their senior school students.  (This is to enable their students to enrol in top schools in the US in future).

Due to COVID-19 and the closure of the Chinese border, the school is looking for experienced English and History teachers who can begin by online teaching 2 hours in the afternoon per day from your home location.  

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Teachers are expected to design daily lessons aligned with curriculum learning objectives, as well as design quizzes, tests, and/or any other assessments.
• Prepare students for external examinations through intensive study sessions and mock examinations.
• Grade and keep accurate records of student work.
• Provide individual feedback to students (and parents, if applicable).
• Understand the characteristics of online education and be able to teach online
• Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and student activities.
• We welcome candidates who are interested in starting any extra-curricular activities for students resembling a “real” American learning context.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:                    

• Native English speaker preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably Master’s. English Literature or Social Studies related major required.
• Minimum 2 years’ professional teaching experience.
• Preferably teaching certification / license.
• Preferred certificate or background in teaching English Language Learners.
• Preferably familiar with standardized tests such as TOEFL, SAT, ACT with experience teaching test preparation courses.
• Preferably familiar with International Curriculum, including American high school system, AP and SAT2.
